“ Very romantic our pre-valentines meal. Was absolutely delicious very reasonably priced and a high quality ingredients. The Lamb was perfectly cooked and the perfect portion size, my partner had the beef and thoroughly enjoyed it, menu has a great selection Daina was most attentive. It’s been a wonderful evening, atmosphere was a delight, surrounded by fairy lights. And excellent wine Highly recommend a visit ”

“ Tonight's Dinner Marc and Dainas Sherwood French Restaurant This restaurant has been here for nearly 20 years and this was our first visit, located next to Ginza. It's soley run by a Husband Chef and Wife front of house you can guess their names. We were walking past one night and only noticed them because they have had a new brightly lit shop front. In their window we saw they do an early evening 3 course set price menu for £18.50. We had Starters Mushroom Basket Chorizo & smoked cheese Salad Mains Grilled chicken chasseur sauce Steak Stroganoff with spiced Rissotto Came with a bowl of veg Desserts Baked cheesecake with a shot Irish cream Passion fruit Creme Brulee It's old school dining with good home cooked french food. The portions are good too. There was one table taken when we arrived but it soon filled up quickly. It's worth a visit if your in the area. We shall definitely return. ”

“ Happened upon this place at random and had the early bird 3 course. There was 2 of us. We walked in and were the only people in there. We were met with a fusty smell (ultimately this didn't matter as the review is still 5 stars). It was silent as we came in but upon seating some ambient music was put on which was nice. The lady was served us was attentive and very pleasant, the timing of the food and spacing between courses was good. We had the soup of day (red pepper and tomato) and pate (stilton) for starters, steak stroganoff and crispy pork belly for main and sticky toffee pudding and baked cheesecake for dessert. The dishes aren't big but they're not small either. The food is presented very nicely and the soup came with a lovely warm roll. The stroganoff was so very tasty, the beef melting away nicely and the pork belly showing a lovely crisp to it with a healthy selection of veg and potatoes. Seasoning is on the table, presumably for you to do to taste. Whilst usually a bigger eater, the servings being a little small mattered not as they were very flavourful so that having a large portion may have been too rich so I actually agree with the portion sizes. I was debating a 4* solely due to the fusty smell upon entry but I don't know if its a fixable problem and tbh, you get used to it after a couple mins. Ultimately that doesn't detract away the fact I really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere (even though we were the only ones in), the service and the price and that I would happily return. ”

“ We always enjoy our meal at Marc & Daina's! My favourite being the mushroom stroganoff (I've tried to re-create it at home but fail every time) Marc's a brilliant cook & Daina looks after you as if you were family friends, We have been many times & will go back again & again. Thoroughly recommended. ”

“ Don't let some of the negative reviews put you off visiting this restaurant (no unpleasant smells either). There were 4 of us & we're greeted with a warm welcome. Now to the main event. I had black pearl scallops as a starter & grilled chicken breast in a chasseur sauce for my main, really tasty & well presented. The rest of our group really enjoyed their food as well. It was our first visit & won't be out last. I can honestly say it's we'll worth a visit. ”
